The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds | Review
It isn't a secret how The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds conquered the hearts and souls of newcomers and veterans of the Legend Of Zelda series alike--With the newest hand-held entry to the Legend Of Zelda franchise Nintendo seems to have taken a step back from the more experimental gameplay approach that we saw with Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. Running around Hyrule, slicing things up with your sword and solving puzzles for treasures and collectibles is all done once again with the touch of a button. And to be completely honest, it feels really wonderful too..
In A Link Between Worlds players embark on a quest to save Zelda and the Seven Sages of Hyrule from being used as subjects for the ressurection of the evil demon pig, Ganon. With the wicked Yuga--a dark wizard that traps people inside a painting--going around Hyrule sealing all the Sages Link also gets trapped inside a wall in an attempt to save the world from the clutches of new evil. Little did Yuga know, however, that Link is then saved by a peculiar bracelet he recieved from a merchant named Ravio. With Link now being able to move freely through dimensions he is ready to set out on his quest to retrieve the Seven Sage paintings and set them free.
With over ten dungeons and a splendid roster of new and nostalgic items alike Nintendo proved once again that their most beloved video game series is still alive and kicking. With quircky and cinematic story-telling cutscenes and clever puzzles this game will enchant and then some. Later on in the game you will find yourself switching from Hyrule to Lorule--a parallel world with much harder dungeons and enemies--and the game even gives you the ability to upgrade every item by collecting the so-called Maiamai's. For every set of ten collected mother Maiamai will upgrade an item for you and these upgrades will prove themselves useful to you later on in the game. I can't express how many secrets the world of Hyrule and Lorule combined offer you and with different tunics to obtain and three upgrades for your Master Sword you will find yourself filled with a fresh breath of adventure every time you start the game. Bottles, heart-pieces, rupies, bees and monster collectibles will keep you satisfied for hours to come. Brew potions in a witch house or play mini-games. Fight shadow-links to collect their bounties via street-pass or really--just set out on one of the biggest, most diverse and satisfying adventures The Legend Of Zelda has ever offered.
